Hi, its me, fishnman, this is a palmetto bass also known as a hybrid striped bass. This 'was' a ten pound bass.....until I actually weighed the fish ; then it became only seven pounds. As the fish can't reproduce they are stocked from time to time by the Texas Parks and Wildlife dept. Thanks guys, a great fish to catch!

This is the nine inch long shad the palmetto bass had tried to swallow.

This is a 'palmetto bass' with a gizzard shad he had just eaten, see forked tail of shad protruding from the fishes throat.

Fuether up the lake, yet another bridge crosses the far reaches of a creek at Lake Tyler, Tx

Time for the babies to eat.

Lake Tyler is actually 2 lakes connected by a canal; Im under a bridge that crosses the canal, many birds (swifts) nest under the bridge building their nests with mud.

Three watchdogs at this lakeside home.
As I was fishing along a row of boat docks I felt a presence above me and there stood this dog motionless, silently watching me.
Hey! caught one, it's a largemouth bass, which is actually not a true bass but the largest member of the sunfish family. Fish was released after photo.
Yes, this is my fishing dock, why do you ask?
